Gita Chanting Event Draws Enthusiastic Participation

Samashti Gita Chanting of Bhagavad Gita Chapter 15 was conducted successfully on December 7th, 2025 at CMLA Rameshwaram in celebration of Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav.

The Samashti (Collective) Gita Chanting is a global initiative which seeks to honor 75 years of the Chinmaya Movement (Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav) by uniting voices in the timeless chant of the Bhagavad Gita, the very scripture that laid the foundation for Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s vision and work. It stands as a living tribute to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda's legacy, inspiring a global collective to uphold the Gita as a guiding light.

With Pujya Gurudev’s blessings and the guidance of Swami Ishwarananda, Br. Sandhyaji, Mahadevanji, and Vijayalakshmiji, the event unfolded with devotion and enthusiasm. The initiative was spearheaded by Sinduja Kosgi, who trained participants with great dedication in the weeks leading up to the event.

The Samashti Chanting opened with a prayer to God and Guru composed by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, setting a deeply reverent tone for the recitation that followed. Next came a lamp lighting ceremony by Mahadevanji and VijiJi, symbolizing the lighting of the lamp of Self Knowledge in the hearts of all. Then followed by an inspiring talk by Br. Sandhyaji on the significance of the Gita and the power of chanting.

The event saw over 85 enthusiastic participants—adults and children—with more than 40 chanting entirely from memory.  The devotional chanting created a vibrant, uplifting spiritual atmosphere. To commemorate this special occasion, custom pins were gifted to all participants, which were met with great appreciation.  Special thanks goes to Janakiramji for coaching kids and adults to chant chapt 15 during regular classes held at Rameshwaram. On this occasion, Swami Ishwarananda expressed his appreciation and congratulated all the participants.
